The time has come when Spanish translators and interpreters are encountering a more demanding market and the need for continued education. It is not unusual for them to be asked about their training, continued education, and experience in the field. TIP-Lab offers a program designed to strengthen their professional skills and fulfill their continued education requirements while they meet the challenges of today's market.

TIP-Lab has been created for those who want to practice the techniques and modalities of Spanish translation. This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on experience. Most translators and interpreters want to build their skills, but finding the time and funds needed to attend a formal translation course in a university, college or other institution, if one is found, is very difficult. TIP-Lab is geared precisely to bring those elements together and provide its participants with a moderately-priced workshop in which they can participate at their own time and pace, without the inconvenience of costly travel to another location. The self-awareness that is gained through this challenging translation practice is truly unique.

Since 1995, the Distance Translation Revision Workshop for English-to-Spanish translators has been implemented with great success. The following PDF document describes how the workshop came about and summarizes some of the most frequent translation difficulties encountered by participants through the years.

Eighteenth Spanish Translation/Revision Workshop
A Translation/Revision Workshop specially designed and tailored for professionals working in any country in the world who translate from English into Spanish will be conducted from July to December 2008. Texts translated by the participants are reviewed by a professional translator in Argentina, and returned to the participants with revisions and annotated comments. The emphasis is on general interest topics with no particular focus on any specialized terminology or subject matter.
